もう一回言ってくれる？ / インディアンジョーク

昨日16日木曜は
アーススピリットさん来訪
ずっと暖めていた企画は来年に向けて詰める。
デザインのアイデアを提案できて具体化していく兆しが見えた。

旧ギャラリーの撤収の予定はたたなかった。
引き続き考慮中。

ジョークを紹介するkill time 暇つぶし
今回もインディアンらしい話だ。

Say that again...
A white woman was driving down a lonely road
through the Cherokee rez when she saw a Cherokee woman
walking along the roadside.
She pulled over and offered her a lift.
The Cherokee woman nodded and got in the passenger side.
They rode in silence for a few miles
when the white woman noticed the Cherokee woman
slipping glances to a bottle of whiskey
on the seat beside them.
Not wanting her to get the wrong idea, the white woman says,
"Oh, I got that for my husband."
The Cherokee woman nods, looks back to the road
and quietly says, "Good Trade"

もう一度言ってくれる？
白人女性が車を運転して
チェロキー･インディアンのリザベーションを通りかかったとき
チェロキーの女性が1人で路肩を歩いていた。
彼女は車を寄せて乗るように勧めると
チェロキーの女性は頷いて助手席に乗ってきた。
しばらく無言が続いたあと白人女性はチェロキー女性の視線が
座席の横にあるウィスキーに移ったのに気が付いた。
白人女性は誤解されたくなかったから
"Oh, I got that for my husband." と言った。
チェロキーの女性は頷いて道路に視線を戻して静かに言った。
「いい取り引きだったね」

"Oh, I got that for my husband."
このジョークが成り立つ日本語訳が見当たらなかった。
白人女性は「そのウィスキーは夫のために買ってきたもの」
と言ったつもりが。
チェロキーの女性は
「夫でそのウィスキーを手に入れた」と聞いて、
夫とウィスキーが交換できるなら「いい取り引きだ」と・・・。
